Sipilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the spiroset bacteria Treponema pallidum of the pallidum sub-species. The main route of transmission through sexual contact of this infection can also be transmitted from mother to fetus during pregnancy or at birth which causes congenital syphilis. Despite the huge numbers, newborn deaths were and to some extent still are invisible at many levels. This starts in the homes of the poor where most of these deaths occur and goes right up to the corridors of power. More than two-thirds of these 4 million newborns die in sub-Saharan Africa and south Asia, often in the first days of life, without a name let alone a birth certificate. There have been initiatives such as the Safe Motherhood Initiative, which was most concerned for the mother, while the child survival campaign was primarily for the older child. The newborn has fallen between the cracks. However, if all partners worked together effectively, if roles were clear and services were integrated, this would not be the case. ]]>

Good day, I read this artical and I really agree with the result of your research…Mozambique needs to invest more in education projects, specially in the training of primary school teachers through high academic levels. It is true that the private sector has better academic results than the government schools. The private sector is trying to contribute helping communities to benefit from a better service. I was a teacher for 23 years in Maputo high schools, I have a degree in Planning, Administration and Management in Education. I would also like to open a small primary school in Maputo – Liberdade to help the poor and medium class children, but I do not have financial conditions to start my project. I need help from any international institution to start with this project. ]]>
